If fruit
and vegetables are stored in a refrigerator cell for preservation, oxygen
O2 is consumed and therefore carbon dioxide CO2
rises, as a consequence of respiration. An excessive concentration of
CO2 causes irreparable damage to the goods.
With the adsorber of carbon dioxide one aims at eliminating the excessive
CO2 and adding the necessary oxygen at the
same time.
WORKING
CRITERIA OF THE MACHINE
The cells
air, partly containing CO2, will be sucked
by a compressor, filtered in a special tank containing activated carbon
and then reintroduced to the cell without CO2.
Simultaneously, in a second tank containing activated carbon, saturated
before with CO2, fresh air will be introduced,
which separates CO2 from the activated carbon
and expels it. This operation, called regeneration phase, brings the carbon
back to the condition of adsorbing the CO2.
All this is accomplished

fully automatically
by the machine. Furthermore, the addition of fresh air in the cell, during
the exchange between the two tanks, will be avoided by a special device.
An electric board, placed on the machine, offers the possibility to connect
it with more cells (from 1 to 30), and ensures the programmed functioning
without the continuous presence of an operator. It is possible to set
different working times for each cell (depending on the necessities),
in various sequences.
ADVANTAGES
OF THE ADSORBER
Precise testing
and calibrating of the machine, in relation to the necessities of each
plant at the moment of the installation. A product of tested efficiency,
with user instructions and easy maintenance. Activated carbon of high
adsorbing capacity and duration. No oxygen increase in the cell during
operation, fast assistance service from any distance. The consumption
capacity of the adsorber is 200 - 300 - 400 - 500 Kg CO2/24h.
